About Andrea Martin
I am thrilled to be back at Faubion for my seventh year. I joined the Faubion family in 2012 and was the only counselor for the last three years in the old Faubion building. During the transition years when Faubion was being rebuilt I was living and working in South Korea where I was a middle school counselor at an International School in Jeju. In 2017 I returned to Faubion in the new building as the Middle School Counselor.
Before coming to Faubion, I spent 3 years with Portland Public Schools in the Teen Parent Program. Before that I was a counselor at a K-12 school. For about 5 years I was a Juvenile Probation Officer in Pittsburgh, PA. I have also worked in conflict mediation and restorative justice.
I have my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA. I completed my Undergraduate degree at Goshen College in Indiana with an Interdisciplinary major focusing on Peace Studies, Intercultural Studies and Philosophy.
While I was born in Florida, I am hardly a Floridian as I spent 13 years of my childhood in Nairobi, Kenya. My parents were teachers at a small American school which is where I completed all my elementary and high schooling.
