Books I use for Counseling Lessons:
Enemy Pie
This is another one of my favorite books. A boy has an enemy, the new kid who just moved in. He tells his dad about this enemy and his dad decided to make enemy pie. The catch is, he needs to spend all day with his enemy if enemy pie is going to work. After a day with his enemy, he realizes he is not really an enemy anymore. But what about the pie...?
We are reading this book in Counseling Classroom Lessons with the second grade class. Check back to see the wonderful activity that follows.

Have You Filled A Bucket Today?
By Carol McCloud
This is one of my favorite character building children's books. In short, this book says that we all have an invisible bucket that we carry around. We all want that bucket filled up and it can only be filled up when people are kind to us, say nice things to us or treat us with respect. We can not fill up our own bucket, only other people's buckets. Sometimes we are bucket dippers and say or do mean things to other people. When we do this we are emptying someones bucket. We feel good, confident and happy when our buckets are full and we feel bad when they are empty. So lets be BUCKET FILLERS and be kind to each other. Check out our bulletin board near the cafeteria to see how we are all amazing Bucket Fillers!
